This is the only camping area in the park that can be reached by 2WD. It’s on Abercrombie Rd, at the crossing of the Abercrombie River, 29 km north of Taralga via the Goulburn–Oberon Rd. If the water levels are high enough, this is a good spot for swimming, fishing or paddling. Boil or treat water from the river, or else bring your own, plus firewood.

This campsite is located in Abercrombie River National Park

Abercrombie River National Park protects the largest tract of low open forest in the south-west central tablelands. Its 3 rivers are punctuated by deep waterholes suitable for swimming, fishing and paddling. The park is 40 km south of Oberon and 60 km north of Goulburn. The main access is via Arkstone Rd, from the Goulburn–Oberon Rd. Access throughout the park is on fire trails that, while not technically challenging, are very steep in some places and could be difficult if it rains.
