The Sink camping area
You’ll need a 4WD to access this camping area, next to Retreat River on the Retreat Fire Trail via Arkstone Rd. If the river is running, it’s a good spot for fishing and swimming, and there’s also bushwalking to do here. Boil or treat water from the river before drinking, otherwise bring your own, along with firewood. There is a short walk from car to site.

This campsite is located in Abercrombie River National Park
Abercrombie River National Park protects the largest tract of low open forest in the south-west central tablelands. Its 3 rivers are punctuated by deep waterholes suitable for swimming, fishing and paddling. The park is 40 km south of Oberon and 60 km north of Goulburn. The main access is via Arkstone Rd, from the Goulburn–Oberon Rd. Access throughout the park is on fire trails that, while not technically challenging, are very steep in some places and could be difficult if it rains.
