This cafe is part of Poachers Pantry and is the place to go for excellent smoked meats and vegetables. Diners could easily share a platter with a glass of wine from the associated Wily Trout vineyard, or tuck into the likes of a harissa-marinated chicken breast, or a beef, shiraz and smoked tomato pie. A farm shop and cellar door (open daily 10am–5pm) with a tasting bar is also on-site for those interested in sampling the smoked meats and house wines, and a range of gourmet products are available for sale. The cafe is situated in an old weatherboard farm cottage – not surprisingly, it’s a popular place in the evening for weddings and other functions. Bookings are essential for lunch on weekends.
