Thomas Boyd, a member of the Hume and Hovell expedition, ended up settling in the Tumut region. His namesake campsite is one of the major trackheads on the walking trail. There’s vehicle-based camping available, accessible via Goobarragandra (Lacmalac) Rd. It’s a well-rounded campsite with gas barbecues and picnic tables, drinking water and activities such as swimming and fishing. You can also camp with your dog.
