Hailed as ‘the most highly serviced bushland camping area in the ACT’, Cotter Campground is set beside the iconic Murrumbidgee River, 22 km west of Canberra. The river corridor is a great spot for swimming, canoeing and fishing, as well as bushwalking and picnicking. The campground can be reached via Cotter Rd. There’s limited firewood provided, so best to bring your own. The maximum stay is 2 weeks, which tells you something about its popularity.
