Set amid forests showcasing Sydney’s best – peppermint, blackbutt, scribbly gum and blue gums – this family-friendly camping site is in Hornsby Shire Council in the city’s north. You can drive in on Somerville Rd in Hornsby Heights, or walk in via Benowie Walking Track, part of the Great North Walk. Canoes and boats can also access the shores of the reserve via Berowra Creek. Visitors can partake in a number of activities including guided Aboriginal heritage tours, spotlighting and an eco-history walk. Note: bring your own drinking water and gas/fuel stove.
