Great North Walk

On the Great North Walk, you can journey deep into the bush all the way from Sydney to Newcastle, covering 250 kilometres on a marked track. From Circular Quay, the walk crosses the harbour, then traverses Lane Cove National Park and the forested hills and sandstone plateaus of Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park. North of Brisbane Water National Park, the track meets state forests and Watagans National Park before hitting Lake Macquarie. There are campsites suitably placed along the way or opportunities to enjoy accommodation in areas like the Hunter Valley. The full walk takes 14 days, but you can also cover smaller sections.
