Taronga Western Plains Zoo

Taronga Western Plains Zoo was Australia’s first open-range zoo, with over 700 animals and set on more than 3 square kilometres of bushland. The zoo is renowned for its successful breeding and conservation programs, education facilities and exhibits. There are keeper talks, Animal Encounter tours, early morning walks, and accommodation at Zoofari Lodge. The Tracker Riley Cycleway paves the 3.1 kilometres from Dubbo to the zoo. Bicycles and maps are available from the visitor centre.
