Turn onto Burrendong Rd off Wellington–Orange Rd north of Mumbil, and you’ll soon find this camping area. Activities include golf, sailing, hiking, canoeing, fishing, waterskiing and a waterslide. There’s a kiosk and laundry facilities, as well as cabin accommodation. Bring your own drinking water and firewood. If you manage to get bored here, you can always visit the Wellington Caves, about 30 min drive away.

Lake Burrendong State Park is an outdoor wonderland for people of all ages and interests. It’s 27 km south-east of Wellington, a manageable hour’s drive from Dubbo or Orange. There are 2 camping areas on the lake, and a 160 ha arboretum showcasing 2000 species of native plants.
