Lake Cargelligo The lake dominates the town and is popular for fishing (silver perch, golden perch and redfin), boating, sailing, waterskiing and swimming. It is also appealing to birdwatchers, being home to many bird species including the rare black cockatoo. Willandra National Park Once one-eighth of a huge merino sheep station, the 20 000 ha park features a restored homestead (offering accommodation), stables, a shearing complex and men's quarters. The buildings house a display of pastoral and natural history of the area. Plains, wetlands and Willandra Creek make up the rest of the park, with a walking track that is best at dawn or dusk to see the myriad waterbirds, kangaroos and emus.
