The road in to Federal Falls camping area isn’t suitable for caravans or camper trailers, although 2WD vehicles are permitted. To get here, follow Pinnacle Rd from Orange and turn onto Towac Rd. There are a number of walking tracks fanning out from the campground, including the Federal Falls Track. Note: there’s a short walk from the carpark to the camping area. Bring your own drinking water and firewood.

This campsite is located in Mount Canobolas State Conservation Area

Mt Canobolas is a 1395 m remnant of an extinct volcano, and its slopes boast some of the largest remnants of subalpine vegetation in this region. There’s a selection of walking tracks and lookouts, which take in the region’s intriguing rock formations and surrounding agricultural land.
