Coles Bridge camping area
Campsite
Coles Bridge is about 15 km west of Sofala on the Turon River. Both the river and Sofala are historically significant: the river for the site of one of the first alluvial gold rushes in Australia; the town for being the oldest surviving goldmining town in the country (established in 1851). Take the Hill End Rd west from Sofala, turn onto Turondale Rd and follow it until you reach the bridge. Just over the bridge there’s a track to the right leading to the camping area. Bring your own drinking water and firewood.
