Forster and Tuncurry are the twin towns on either side of the Wallis Lake inlet, where stunning beaches lie to the north and south. In Booti Booti National Park in the south, Elizabeth (patrolled in summer), Blueys and Boomerang are all excellent surf beaches. In the north, Crowdy Bay National Park is a tract of green lowlands meeting sandy beaches and rocky outcrops. One sweeping ocean beach stretches between the lighthouse at Crowdy Head and the sculpted formation of Diamond Head. There are also secluded Mermaid and Fig Tree beaches to consider. Head to Wallis Lake Fishermen’s Co-op in Tuncurry for beautiful local oysters.
