Stockton Sand Dunes

This huge dune area, the largest moving coastal sand mass in the Southern Hemisphere, extends for 32 kilometres, rises to a height of 30 metres and is, understandably, a popular place for sand boarding. Deep within its midst, you’d be forgiven for thinking you were in the Sahara, not coastal New South Wales. Access is from Anna Bay or Williamtown by four-wheel drive or safari (book at the Port Stephens visitor centre)
