Fish Trap Tour - Brewarrina

On the Fish Trap Tour, visit what is believed to be the oldest construction on earth, estimated at 40 000 years old. The Brewarrina fish traps are a series of stone walls designed to catch fish as they swim upstream. When the season permits and the river isn’t flooded, a 45-minute tour (held twice daily at 10am and 3pm) will take you to the fish traps, where they are explained in detail, before you visit the Aboriginal Cultural Museum. The museum has cultural artefacts and a short film with the Dreamtime story of the fish traps.
