Kinchega National Park

Picnic or camp among glorious red sand dunes under a vast cobalt-blue sky. See Aboriginal hand paintings and try birdwatching (don’t forget the emus) or kangaroo spotting. Fresh water (rain and bore water) are available at the historic woolshed. Regular tours and billy tea are organised by the national parks office. Nearby Menindee Lakes, a system of 12 man-made lakes, offers fishing and other water-based activities.
