On Lake Dr off Old Pooncarie Rd, this camping area is right on the lake’s foreshore, which offers beautiful early-morning or late-evening views. Following years of drought that saw the lake dry out, it is now full again (June 2011), so the views from the shore, through the drowned river red gums, is as special as ever. Birdlife is abundant and watching the sun set over this oasis in the outback is something not to be missed. Note: it’s 2WD access in dry weather only.
