Crackenback Cottage sits on 40 hectares of property and dates back to 1884, when it was built by a newly married couple. In more recent years, its owner has transformed a tumble-down guesthouse into an award-winning destination. The comfortable accommodation has a rustic yet contemporary style, and there’s a country store selling homemade preserves, a renowned restaurant and the new addition: a chapel for weddings. All meals are catered for by the restaurant and, with its large collection of schnapps, the fully licensed bar clearly needs investigating after dinner.
