Sutton Forest This tiny settlement is set among green hills, with a shop called A Little Piece of Scotland (in the town's old butcher shop) for all things Scottish, and The Everything Store, c. 1859. Hillview House, just north, was the official residence of NSW governors 1882–1958. 6 km SW.
Throsby Park Historic Site: owned for 150 years by the Throsby family. Buildings that depict early settlement life include original stables, former barn, flour mill, Gundagai Cottage and Christ Church; 1.5 km E. Access is by tour only; bookings (02) 4887 7270. Cecil Hoskins Nature Reserve: tranquil wetland with over 90 different bird species, one-third of which are waterfowl; 3 km NE.
