Trentham Estate Restaurant
Enjoying one of the best positions on the banks of the Murray, just 13 kilometres out of Mildura, this winery restaurant has plenty of balcony and verandah tables with views for outside dining. The chef bakes bread daily, blends a version of Egyptian dukkah using local pistachio nuts, and also makes his own balsamic-style vinegar caramelised with raw sugar and bush tomato. Start perhaps with baked goat’s cheese tart or Asian-style yabbie gowgee, before considering twice-cooked Asian duck on kipfler potatoes or citrus chicken using the local oranges for which the region is famous. Diners can also opt to DIY barbecue on the lawns. The cellar door is open daily.
