Cape Byron and Lighthouse

When you stand on Cape Byron you are as far east as you can get on the Australian mainland – a good spot to watch for turtles, dolphins and humpback whales out at sea. If you don’t have binoculars, hire a pair from the Cape Byron shop, or make use of the coin-operated telescopes. You can also look for goannas, wallabies and soaring eagles by following one of the marked tracks into the rainforest of Cape Byron Headland Reserve. Guided tours of the lighthouse are available two days a week.
