Beaches: safe swimming at the patrolled Main Beach, and surfing at Clarkes Beach and the Pass; look out for ‘sandologist’ Steve Machell and his fabulous sand sculptures on Main or Clarkes beaches; there’s more surfing at Wategos, child-friendly swimming at secluded Little Wategos, dogs are welcome at Belongil and Brunswick Heads, or go horseriding or beach-fishing at Seven Mile Beach stretching towards Lennox Head.
