Nightcap National Park
Back to nature
Experience sheer cliffs, spectacular waterfalls and lush green gullies. Park in the Terania Creek Picnic Area and take the easy walk through bangalow palms to the base of Protestors Falls (45 minutes, 1.4 kilometres return). This area was the scene of major anti-logging protests in 1979. The falls are home to the endangered Fleay’s barred frog, so swimming is forbidden, but there are barbecues, toilets, tables and shelters. Rocky Creek Dam just south of the park has forest walks with interpretive signs, picnic spots and a playground. Warning: Nightcap National Park has the highest annual rainfall in the state!
