Take the Black Mountain Rd south from Nymboida, Glenreagh or Lowanna and turn onto Junction Rd, a 1.4 km unsealed road suitable for 4WD access only – unless you’re prepared to walk or paddle in. Once there, you’ll find a peaceful camping area by the Nymboida River, where you can launch your canoe or kayak or just kick back on the banks and look for platypus and river turtles. Bring your drinking water and firewood.
