Two hours’ drive east of Darwin, this lodge has a range of accommodation, ranging from budget to deluxe rooms. The lodge is a short distance from Shady Camp, one of the best barramundi fishing spots in Australia. The lodge hires out boats for fishing and sells tickets for a Mary River wetlands cruise. There are several nature reserves nearby as well as walking trails leading from the lodge, although don’t wander too far and never venture into the water.
