Next to the pub, this is one of the best little cafes in the Territory. The decor has a 1950s theme, with posters of Elvis, James Dean and Marilyn Monroe on the walls, but don’t be put off by the kitsch because the food is homemade and comes in big portions. The burgers are terrific, but desserts like the carrot cake and pecan pie are the real stars of the show. There are historical publications to browse through, and of particular interest is a book by Mayse Young who, along with her husband ‘Bogger’, was the publican at the next door pub from the 1940s to 1960s.
