Charles Darwin National Park

Mangroves merge with tropical woodland at this national park, off Tiger Brennan Drive east of the city. There is an excellent view of the city from a lookout on the escarpment, and the park contains a number of Aboriginal shell middens and some World War II bunkers. It also incorporates some of the most pristine mangrove areas in northern Australia, and if accessed by boat there is excellent fishing.
