Set in a beautiful spot near the river, this is a great isolated camping spot for birdwatchers, canoeists and anglers. There is a boat-launching area, but motors must be 15 hp or less, and anglers are asked to use lures not bait, to protect the turtles. The last 30 km is a dirt road that’s usually quite rough, so 4WD is recommended.

This campsite is located in Giwining-Flora River Nature Park

The main attraction in this park, 122 km south of Katherine, is the 25 km of protected river way. It has tufa dams, springs, portages and plenty of areas to explore by canoe. Look for rare pig-nosed turtles, as well as salt- and freshwater crocodiles, and riverbanks lined with palms, melaleucas and pandanus.
