Just a couple of km off the Savannah Way, this is the most popular campsite in the park, as it is the only safe spot for swimming. Towards the end of the dry season the water can become stagnant though. Look for the sign on the Savannah Way, 20 km south of the Limmen Bight River Crossing.

This campsite is located in Limmen National Park

This wild, remote and rugged park has ‘lost city’ geological formations of spires and columns of stratified sandstone, isolated thermal springs, lofty escarpments and billabongs aplenty. There are some bushwalking tracks, great birdwatching and you can swim at Butterfly Springs in the south of the park. The park is some 300 km south-east of Katherine and 76 km north-west of Borroloola; a 4WD is required. Turn off the Roper Hwy, 3 km west of Roper Bar, onto the Point Roper Rd.
