About an hour and a half’s drive south-east of Katherine, with access marked 52 km east of Katherine off the Stuart Hwy, this campsite on Aboriginal land is probably best suited to those who want an Aboriginal cultural tour. Day tours start at 9am and need to be pre-booked; they include bush tucker, painting, didgeridoo playing and a guided walk. The tours don’t run in the wet season, and camping at the site is only advised Apr–Nov. The dirt road can be inaccessible during the Wet. Nearby facilities include a general store and Aboriginal art gallery, and attractions include bushwalking tracks, including the 4-day hike to Katherine Gorge. Note: alcohol is not permitted at the campsite and there are no powered sites.
