Escarpment is the best restaurant in Jabiru, and an absolute oasis if you have been walking all day through Kakadu National Park. The bar serves a large range of beers and cocktails, while the restaurant is open early for breakfast and offers a full buffet plus à la carte dining for lunch and dinner. Service is friendly and prompt, the restaurant is spacious, and the specialty of the house is barramundi. The restaurant is housed in the Gagudju Crocodile Holiday Inn, an audacious architectural experiment in the shape of a large saltwater crocodile, one of the totems of the local Aboriginal people.
