The Bark Hut Inn
Restaurant/cafe
Close to the entrance of Kakadu National Park, on the Arnhem Highway, this classic roadhouse is a popular stop for tour buses. The kitchen supplies good pub fare – if you are passing through, the homemade muffins are excellent. Built with massive paperbark logs, the roadhouse has a colourful history as a watering hole for buffalo and crocodile shooters, barramundi poachers and all kinds of government officials, from politicians to stock inspectors, who have been known to park their helicopters out the back.
