Arltunga Historic Reserve
There was a gold rush here in the late 19th century, creating the first significant European settlement in the outback. You can wander through the stone residences of this deserted town, and marvel at massive mining machinery that had to be transported hundreds of kilometres across the outback. At the visitor centre, pan for gold and see cultural and historical exhibits. Territory Parks Alive, Alice Springs run fun sessions here.
