This campsite is located in Chambers Pillar Historical Reserve

The 50 m tower of sandstone here is the main attraction – both for its natural beauty and for the historic graffiti carved into it; early European visitors from the exploring party for the Overland Telegraph Line, including John Ross and Alfred Giles, carved their initials in the soft stone in 1870. At sunset it appears to glow. There are walking tracks around the pillar and the surrounding area.
