The park can be reached in a conventional vehicle. Take the Stuart Hwy south of Alice Springs for 130 km, then turn onto the gravel road leading to Watarrka National Park and drive for 8 km, then take the turn-off north for 5 km to reach the reserve’s entrance. You’ll need to bring your own drinking water and collect firewood before entering the park. Dogs are allowed on leads in the carpark only.
