Redbank Gorge – Ridgetop camping area (section 11)
Campsite
Access to this site is recommended for 4WD vehicles or walkers. It is 3.5 km north of Namatjira Dr, 152 km west of Alice Springs. Bring in your own drinking water but no generators.
As the name indicates, this campsite is situated on a hilltop, with views of the ranges. A short drive takes you to the walking access to Redbank Gorge itself. There are permanent waterholes at the top of the gorge and in dry times the trail follows the sandy river bed. When wet though, there is still access on a track along the bank.
