An institution in the Northern Territory, this roadhouse at the junction of the Stuart and Barkly highways has been fuelling up and feeding travellers for 50 years. It is 15 minutes’ drive north of Tennant Creek, so not many people stay here unless they drive across the Barkly near nightfall. The cabins and rooms are comfortable and modern, plus there is a refreshing pool and restaurant with good food and large servings. As the roadhouse is a stopover for truck drivers, there are always road trains parked outside and colourful characters at the bar.
