Beside Emu Creek (a tributary of the Brisbane River) and adjacent to the Bicentennial National Trail, this campground has sizeable, open grassy areas suitable for large groups. The site is accessible by conventional vehicles via a gravel road, around 11 km south of D’Aguilar Hwy. Note: there is no mobile phone coverage. Bring your own firewood and drinking water – or treat or boil the tap water at this campsite.

This campsite is located in Benarkin State Forest

Known for its towering hoop pines and eucalypt forests, Benarkin is a stunning subtropical rainforest near the regional town of Blackbutt. The forest is popular with wilderness bushwalkers seeking amazing views on the National Bicentennial Trail. Vehicle access to the forest is from Benarkin Forest Dr (be wary of logging trucks). Advance bookings are required for camping.
