Outdoor movies and friendly tennis competitions might not be typical tourist park activities, but Yallakool offers more bang for your buck. Situated 13 km south-east of Murgon, there’s sheltered swimming areas; good fishing at Bjelke-Peterson Dam; kayaks available for hire; and wildlife such as koalas, wallabies and kangaroos often spotted on the grounds. The camp kitchen includes a fridge, hotplates, oven and microwaves. The park is signposted off Barambah Rd, from the Burnett and Bunya highways.
