South-east camping area (bush camping)
Self-sufficient campers can stay in areas marked with totem poles on this stretch of beach on the east coast of Moreton, spanning the area between Middle Rd and Rous Battery. There are no facilities in this camping area, so bring your own drinking water and firewood (for use in existing fire sites only) and take all rubbish with you.

This campsite is located in Moreton Island National Park and Recreation Area
Regarded as the jewel of Moreton Bay’s sandy islands, Moreton Island is a haven for off-road adventurers (it's 4WD only) looking for a wilderness experience within easy reach of Brisbane. Here, only a 2 hr barge trip from the mainland, are long sandy beaches, clear freshwater lagoons, wildflower heaths and some of the highest sand dunes in the world. Anglers should check the Moreton Bay Marine Park map before casting off, as fishing is prohibited in some areas of the coast. Advance booking is required for camping.
