Moreton Bay

Surrounded by Bribie, Moreton and North Stradbroke islands, Brisbane’s Moreton Bay is a haven for birds, turtles, dolphins and the world’s most southerly dugongs. Visitors to Moreton Island can see dolphins coming ashore for feeding at Tangalooma Island Resort (resort guests are allowed to feed them). All three islands offer good snorkelling and diving, and there are chances for spotting humpback whales in winter and spring from eastern extremities such as Cape Moreton on Moreton Island and North George Headland on North Stradbroke Island.
