Adder Rock camping area
Sheltered in the bushland behind a cove, Adder Rock is a shady campground with 26 powered sites and plenty of room for tents. There’s a general store and public phone within 100 m, and you have the option of hiring a 2-bedroom cabin on site. The campground is on East Coast Rd at Point Lookout, around 20 km north-east of Dunwich.

Called Minjerribah by the Indigenous Quandamooka people, and affectionately known as ‘Straddie’ among locals, the laid-back vibe and subtropical beauty of Stradbroke Island will have you blissfully relaxed from the moment you arrive. Spot dolphins and manta rays on the North Gorge Headlands Walk, take a scuba-diving adventure, hike through bushland to magnificent freshwater lakes, enjoy a 4WD tour on the beach, go fishing, or simply sit back at the Point Lookout pub and enjoy the glorious sunsets. Several areas of North Stradbroke Island are now part of Naree Budjong Djara National Park and Minjerribah Recreation Area, jointly administered by the Quandamooka and NPRSR. All campsites must be booked and paid for in advance of travel.
