Eccentric is the best way to describe this quirky collection of 1940s and 1950s fibro cabins scattered around a hillside overlooking a long sweep of undeveloped ocean beach. Guests, many of whom return often, share bathrooms and kitchens. The gaily painted chalet has interesting gardens and a delightful guest lounge beside the pool. It is close to the island’s few shops and cafes, and the iconic Point Lookout headland, Australia’s most easterly point. Cabins are bright and clean, and have small refrigerators and washbasins.
