Montrachet is very French, like its enthusiastic owner Thierry Galichet, and fun and relaxed. Given this is Queensland, where seafood reigns supreme, the bouillabaisse with reef fish, Queensland scallops, fresh green prawns and Moreton Bay bugs served in a rich seafood broth is hard to ignore. But then so is the cassoulet maison, a white haricot bean casserole with duck, smoked pork, lamb and Toulouse sausage. Or keep it simple and have a very smart ‘counter lunch’ of eye fillet steak, chips and salad.
