Cleveland

About 40 minutes south-east of Brisbane, leafy Cleveland is the centre of the Redland Bay district. This area is rich in history, so follow the heritage trail from the Old Courthouse to explore it. Enjoy the colourful Cleveland Bayside Markets on Sundays or try one of the delicious counter meals at Brisbane’s oldest pub, the 1851 Grand View Hotel – with Queensland’s oldest banyan tree out front. Another historic building is Ormiston House, built in 1862 and now restored and open to visitors. (07) 3286 1425; open Sun afternoons Mar–Nov.
