A great spot for swimming and canoeing, Kauri Creek is 9 km from the western entrance and 19 km from the eastern entrance of Danbulla Forest Dr. Open fires are allowed in fire rings; generators are not permitted. Visitors are advised to bring insect repellent, firewood and drinking water. A shower room is provided for campers who want to bring their own bush showers.

This campsite is located in Danbulla State Forest

Less than 2 hrs’ drive from Cairns, wildlife-rich Danbulla State Forest is on the north-east side of Lake Tinaroo on the Atherton Tablelands. Visitors can take the scenic Danbulla Forest Dr, have a picnic at one of 4 day-use areas, or go bushwalking on one of 5 tracks with varying degrees of difficulty. To get here, take the Danbulla Forest Dr north-east of Tinaroo Dam. Advance bookings are required for camping.
