Jabiru Safari Lodge

Book in here for an exceptional experience. You stay in very comfortable safari tents with ensuites and timber verandahs, set in open savannah woodland that is part of the 2000-hectare non-profit, community-owned Mareeba Tropical Savanna and Wetland Reserve (the lodge is 20 kilometres from Mareeba). You have the option of full board or bed and breakfast only. There are hides from which you can watch the hundreds of birds that have returned to the wetlands over recent years as the area has been restored. You can take a guided electric boat tour at sunset on Clancy’s Lagoon or simply enjoy the scene anytime from the deck of the visitor centre and reception area. Volunteers come from across the world all year to aid with the conservation work in the reserve, but it is closed to the public in the wet season from January to March.
