The Sebel Reef House & Spa
Set among paperbark trees, this resort has pleasant colonial-style architecture and its Brigadier’s Bar and Lounge reflects the atmosphere of bygone days. Guests gather here at sunset and drinks charges are based on an honesty system, where guests sign chits as in an officers’ mess. Accommodation includes studio-style rooms, beachfront spa rooms, and suites for families, couples or small groups. There are two restaurants – a pool cafe and the highly recommended Reef House Restaurant on a wooden deck overlooking the Esplanade and the beach. The day spa uses Australian natural products and many Aboriginal-inspired treatments, including the use of carved Gubbera Kodo hot stones.
