Salsa Bar and Grill
Restaurant/cafe
Sit behind the timber louvres in this tropical Queensland weatherboard house, gaze across the road to the small St Mary’s by the Sea church and realise why Port Douglas has such a special place in the hearts of many visitors to this northern township. Salsa’s jambalaya, kangaroo loin, Japanese-inspired tataki dishes and oven-baked chicken breast are enjoyed by locals so much it’s sometimes hard for visitors to get a booking. Look out for the framed plate signed by former US president Bill Clinton (who supposedly was dining there when he learnt of the 9/11 terrorist attacks).
