This sandy campground with 5 separate sites is next to the beach and accessible only by 4WD. To get here, turn off the Bruce Hwy at Miriwinni, 65 km south of Cairns, and follow the road for 17 km to Bramston Beach. At Bramston Beach, turn left onto Sassafras St and follow the track for 5.5 km to Bluemetal Creek. From the mouth of Bluemetal Creek, follow the unsealed road 1.5 km. This camping area is suitable for self-sufficient campers only; fires are permitted (bring firewood) but a gas/fuel stove is preferred. You'll need to get an e-permit from before camping.

This campsite is located in Russell River National Park

Situated about 83 km south-east of Cairns, Russell River National Park is a small coastal park within the Wet Tropics World Heritage Area. The park occupies a section of the Graham Range between the Russell River and the coastal mangroves. There is a high incidence of estuarine crocodiles in the region.
